Terms of Service

Effective date: February 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Discovery Engine and related services ("Service") operated by Leap Laboratories Inc. ("Leap Labs", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Discovery Engine is an AI-powered data analysis platform that automatically discovers statistically significant patterns in datasets. The Service is available at disco.leap-labs.com and via our API and Python SDK.

2. Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. Subscriptions and payments

The Service offers Explorer, Researcher, Team, and Enterprise tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice.

4. Credits

All tiers include a monthly credit allowance. The Explorer tier includes 10 credits per month which do not roll over. Paid tiers (Researcher, Team) include a monthly credit allowance that rolls over. Additional credit packs may be purchased separately by any user. Credits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5. Your data

You retain all ownership rights to the datasets you upload ("Your Data"). By uploading data, you grant us a license to process, store, and analyze Your Data as described below.

Private data. Datasets and reports marked as private are accessible only to you and your team. We will never share, sell, or make private data available to third parties, except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g. cloud storage, compute infrastructure). Private data remains private, full stop.

Public data. Datasets and reports marked as public are visible to all users of the Service. By making data public, you grant Leap Labs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and create derivative works from that data — including making it available via APIs, incorporating it into aggregated datasets, and using it to enrich analyses for other users. Public data contributes to a shared resource that benefits the entire Discovery Engine community. Free tier datasets are public by default.

Data processing. Your Data is processed using machine learning models, including third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude, Perplexity). We share dataset summaries and pattern descriptions — not raw data — with these services for the purpose of generating literature context and pattern descriptions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload datasets containing personally identifiable information (PII) of third parties without lawful basis
  • Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our proprietary algorithms (including HiPe)
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or credit systems
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its algorithms, software, design, and documentation, is owned by Leap Laboratories Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Analysis results generated from Your Data are yours to use, publish, and distribute. If you publish research using Discovery Engine, we appreciate (but do not require) attribution.

8. API and SDK access

You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. We may rate-limit or suspend API access if we detect abuse or excessive usage.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that analysis results are error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Discovery Engine is a research tool — findings should be independently validated before being relied upon for clinical, regulatory, or high-stakes decisions.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leap Laboratories Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Cancellation and termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases. Private datasets will be deleted after a reasonable retention period. Public datasets and their results will remain available on the Service under the license granted in Section 5, as they form part of the shared community resource.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
